Walking from the Lowell Center

Walk west down Langdon St. to Park St. (3 blocks). The Memorial Union will be on your right at the intersection.

Cross the street and turn left, in front of Science Hall (old red brick building). Go a little ways and take the steps up to the steep hill on your right, which is Bascom Hill.

Cross to the left side of Bascom Hill on one of the paths when you can. Continue on the sidewalk all the way up the hill. Abraham Lincoln will be at the top on your right.

Stay left and go all the way down the stairs, past Van Vleck Hall (tall tower). On your right is Sterling Hall, a yellowish brick building, and former home to half of the Physics Dept.

Walk into the courtyard between Sterling Hall (on the right) and Chamberlin Hall (on the left, L-shaped). Note: Due to construction, you may not be able to enter Chamberlin via the courtyard. Instead, cross the narrow winding lane and take the sidewalk that goes between the Botany Garden and the Newton Apple Tree on your left and Chamberlin Hall on your right, to the sidewalk on University Ave. Turn right and Chamberlin Hall is the large yellow brick building on your right.

Go up the steps and enter through the left-most set of doors.

Bear slightly left and go down the curved hallway with the black posters on the wall on the right.

Turn right at the intersection just past the vending machine room, and right again to the passenger elevators.

Go up to 5th floor, and enter the hallway closest to the large pillar across from the freight elevator. (There is a blackboard on the wall near the pillar.) This hallway ends in a door leading onto a walkway to the building next door.

The Pheno office is at the end of the hallway, Room 5294 (262-4964).

"No Hills" route: Walk west down Langdon St. to Park St. (3 blocks). The Memorial Union will be on your right at the intersection.

Cross the street and turn left, in front of Science Hall (old red brick building). Walk two blocks to University Avenue and turn right.

Continue on University Ave. nearly 3 blocks, until you reach Chamberlin Hall at the corner of 1150 University Ave. and N. Charter St., a large yellow brick building.

Go up the steps and enter through the left-most set of doors.

Bear slightly left and go down the curved hallway with the framed pictures on the wall on the right.

Turn right at the intersection just past the vending machine room, and right again to the passenger elevators.

Go to 5th floor, and enter the hallway closest to the large pillar across from the freight elevator. (There is a blackboard on the wall near the pillar.) This hallway ends in a door leading onto a walkway to the building next door.

The Pheno office is at the end of the hallway, Room 5294 (262-4964).
